On-street parking in Arlington Va.?

I am staying at the Sheraton National Hotel, in Arlington VA. I got the hotel on hotwire (non-refundable) which kindly failed to mention that there is a $20 a day parking fee. I cannot afford to pay so much. Does anyone know where I could park on the street in that area (near Arlington Cemetary)? Preferably near the hotel or the Pentagon City metro station. I will just need some safe area where I could leave my car, and where it would be possible for me to get by foot to the hotel. Thanks!
